Studying in New York City through Clemson’s Gateways to World Markets program was an unforgettable experience that expanded my understanding of business on a global scale. Visiting 15 top companies—like Amazon, the New York Stock Exchange, Instagram, and Madison Square Garden—gave me firsthand exposure to the fast-paced world of marketing, strategy, and business. From standing on the trading floor as the opening bell rang to learning how brands craft consumer experiences, every moment deepened my appreciation for the industry I’m passionate about.
More than just a professional learning experience, this trip reinforced the power of relationships—whether it was networking with executives, hearing from Clemson alumni who have built successful careers in NYC, or growing closer to my peers who share the same ambitions. I love marketing because of the ability to connect, create, and leave a lasting impact.
